The effect of this healing process is developed by the intense movement of oil in the oral cavity.
In many chronic disorders and germ-play and inflammatory foci, which tend to stick to the tooth roots.
The teeth and their roots extend far into the jaw bone and their cavities.
These cavities are the body's own defense system. Microbes that enter the tooth necks in these cavities found in this damp, warm and poorly vascularized environment, the ideal condi-tions in order to establish itself. It developed what are known as "dental foci" that damage the body with their metabolic products.
The immune system is weak, then the herd size and load.
Larger lesions are radiographically visible, they not only damage to the teeth and cross-charge your metabolism and the immune system, but rather they also have remote effects on internal organs. Loaded so that each tooth hob tooth a specially assigned to internal organ.
The movement of the sunflower oil in the mouth causes a marked mucosal and tissue perfusion. oilpulling has its roots in Ayurveda which dates back an estimated 5,000-10,000 years and is widely considered to be the oldest form of health care in the world. The knowledge of Ayurveda spread out from India and influenced the ancient Chinese system, Unani medicine, and the humoral medicine practiced by Hippocrates in Greece.
To understand how oilpulling works, we need to understand how Ayurveda works and its basic principles. Ayurveda is made of two root Sanskrit words:
AYUS == LIFE/LONGEVITY VEDA == KNOWLEDGE/SCIENCE
The purpose of each practice is to help the individual to achieve longevity, rejuvenation and self-realisation, the final goal of this life. Both Ayurveda and Yoga serve as means of harmonizing the physical body so that the powers of our inner consciousness can come into action through it. It is a timeless science since it is based on the eternal wisdom.
It is the medicine of nature based on the SAMKHYA philosophy (SAT= truth, KHYA= know)
The Three Doshas
The basic constitution of each individual is called Prakruti (nature, creativity or the first creation). It is determined at conception, according to the different proportions of bodily Air, Fire and Water
It depends on:
Previous life Karma/Actions
Parent's beeja/seeds (ovum and sperm genes)
This constitution is the inherent balance of three Doshas, or subtle biological energies which govern the functions of the body, known as Vata (motion), Pitta (metabolism), and Kapha (cohesiveness). Doshas are reportedly formed in the body from food and other physiologic processes, and regulate thousands of separate functions in the mind-body system. Dosha equilibrium (their quantity, quality, and function relative to each other) is thought to be essential for optimal health and prevention of disease. An individual's constitution and personality is determined by a unique combination of these three Doshas. Constitution determines what will cause imbalance and susceptibility to illness.
It remains unchanged throughout the lifetime of an individual similar to an individual fingerprint / energy print. Every person is very unique- different percentage and manifestation of properties in physical and mental levels Prakruti is of seven types, either single Dosha predominant, or a combination of two, or all three Doshas combined When the body interacts with the outside changing world, e.g. The Weather, time of the day, diet, stress/ emotional factors, the elements undergo a patho- physiological change in response, and go out of balance, which is called Vikruti
Every person has a unique situation and how he or she responds to that situation is how we see Imbalances manifesting in our body and mind. Ayurveda brings these physiological imbalances to a perfectly balanced state of our original constitution. Gradually we see symptoms and diseases getting under control and disappearing.
The Ancient Literature
Current practice and knowledge of Ayurveda are based on three classic Sanskrit written texts, primarily the Charaka Samhita (circa 1500 BC) who has classified more than 200 diseases and 150 pathological conditions and congenital defects. This is remarkably consistent with WHO disease classification criteria (Mishra, Singh, Dagenais, 2001). The Sushruta Samhita (1500 BC) which describes 1,120 diseases and 127 different types of surgical instruments, and Ashtanga Hridayam (500 AD) are the other two classics which deal with surgery and internal medicine respectively.
The forms we have now date from far later, no earlier than the early centuries AD, as adaptations to new technology were incorporated.
Ayurveda laid the foundation for its validation process by emphasizing 'repeated observations' and acceptance of data as reliable only if of uniform consistency, without any contradictions.
The oldest Ayurvedic compilations by Athreya and Agnivesha are believed to be lost. There are three main re-organizers of Ayurveda whose works still exist and are in use. These works were compiled in the texts of Chakra, Sushruta and Vaghbata Samhita. Oil Pulling was first mentioned in Charaka Samhita and Sushruta's Arthashastra, dated back from sometime between the 4th century BC and 2nd century AD, where it was a widely recommended procedure in Ayurveda and referred as kavala graha or kavala gandoosha. A specific type of Oil Pulling called “Roopana Gandoosha” has been mentioned in Ashtanga Sangraha and is said to have dental benefits. In Ayurveda this process is said to cure about 30 systemic diseases ranging from headache, migraine to hypertension, diabetes, asthma, cardio-vascular etc.
Oil Pulling basically slows down the ageing process and it is also said to remove toxins, such as arsenic, from the body. Arsenic is a chemical element naturally found in the Earth’s crust. When combined with other elements, two types of arsenic are formed: organic and inorganic. People are exposed to both forms of arsenic through food, drinking water and air. Organic arsenic is not considered harmful to the body, however, inorganic arsenic is toxic in high doses.
